Instructions:

Step01-Custard Preparation:

In a large enough bowl crack eggs & beat with a whisker. Whisk until it has a foamy texture. Add room temperature evaporated milk, sugar, ground cinnamon, salt & whisk. Whisk custard for 2-3 minutes so that all ingredients are corporate.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Any type of bread goes perfectly with this French toast recipe.
    • White Bread: I prefer white bread for French toast for its neutral flavor & easy absorption.
    • Brioche: Brioche rich French Toast with sweetness. For making baked French toast, use Brioche.
    • Wheat Bread: For a hearty & healthy French toast, try with wheat bread.
    • ⅔ - ¾ inch thick fresh bread slices are standard for toast.

  • Be careful not to over mix French toast custard otherwise toasts get tough, dense. Lumpy custard is not ok.
  • Always use room temperature Eggs & milk in French Toast, to prevent French toast from being burnt during frying.
  • For a nice brunt-free texture toast uses a non-stick frypan.
  • Hand Blender, food processor, whisker, even a fork can be used to make toast custard.
  • I am using powdered sugar to save time. If you are using normal sugar then whisk until sugar dissolves.
  • For saving time, fry in a baking sheet or bake in an oven. Bake for 20 minutes in 300℉.
  • Cut bread into pieces to easily dip in custard & flip.
  • Don`t flip toast too much during frying.

  • Topping: Every person has their custom topping ideas for morning toast. Spread Nutella or jam or cream cheese on toast & decor with strawberry, blueberry, banana, kiwi, raspberry.
  • Dry fruits like Hazelnuts, Almonds, coconut flakes, peanut butter taste good with basic French toast.
  • Drizzle Maple syrup, Honey, or Chocolate syrup with French Toast for extra softness

Storage Tips:

  • Leftover French Toast will remain fresh for up to 12 hours in the fridge.
  • To make ahead of time prepare custard in a Ziploc bag & store in the fridge for 10-12 days. Prepare French Toast with stored custard as recipe instructions.
  • Frozen French Toast: These toasts are freeze-friendly. It can be frozen in 2ways,
    • First, place parchment paper between the French toast, so they don’t stick to each other.
    • Second, set the French Toast individually onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze them that way. Put them all into an airtight container or bag after frozen completely.
    • Reheat: To reheat them, microwave French Toast for about 20 seconds. These reheat beautifully.
